“Enoch get up or you’ll be late,” his dad said turning on the light in his room.
“I’m not going.”
“Why not?” his dad seemed concerned.
“Cause I’m sick,” Enoch added some coughing for effect.
“Fine, whatever,” he said closing the door.
Enoch checked his phone, there were over thirty messages from Xzavier and Brecken.
“I hope they think I’m dead…” he mumbled before getting up.
He looked at himself in the mirror, he had a black eye, making him look like even more of a shady character than he already was.
“Perfect!” he muttered angrily.
He was about to slink back into his bed when his dad peeked his head into his room.
“I need you to run to the store.”
“I’m sick!” Enoch said collapsing on his bed dramatically.
“I let you stay home from school, so you can run a little errand for me,” he turned on the light.
“Ugh, fine what do you need?” Enoch said annoyed.
“Run to the store and grab some peanut butter.”
“For what?”
“Dinner…” His dad said turning to leave.
“Are you seriously going to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner?” Enoch stared him down.
“If you want jelly on it you'll have to buy that too… And we might need bread.”
“I might as well make myself dinner!” Enoch said throwing up his hands.
“That's also an option,” he said before shutting the door quickly.
Enoch cursed under his breath as he pulled on clean clothes and trudged out the door.

By the time he made it to the supermarket it was pouring rain and he was completely soaked.
“Could this day get any wor-,” he was cut off by a car pulling out and brushing his hip roughly. He fell down right into a huge puddle before the owner of the car jumped out to help him.
“Oh my god!” The strange man ran towards him to help. “Are you alright?”
“Yes… I'm fine,” he sighed, not even trying to get up.
After apologizing about ten more times,  Enoch finally got the man to leave and he hurriedly walked into the store. He didn't even bother with the peanut butter and got some instant ramen instead, after checking out he started towards the exit. He reached for the handle just as the door flew open and once again he was knocked off his feet. Whoever ran through the door then proceeded to trip over him.
“Why…” Enoch mumbled, looking over to see who it was.
He came face to face with Eli, the last person he wanted to see.
“NOOOOOO!!” He squealed getting up to run away.
Eli grabbed his ankle, making him fall back down.
“Don't I know you?” He said pulling off Enoch’s hood.
Enoch looked back at him with a death glare in response. Eli seemed amused and smiled just enough for Enoch to notice before getting serious again.
“Is that from me?” He asked motioning to his black eye.
“Did you want something or can I leave now?” Enoch stood up.
“What? You scared of me or something?”
“Pfft… No..” He said inching away from him.
Eli laughed mockingly before getting up. Enoch glared at him before storming off in the other direction. He didn’t even know Eli, he was just some guy from another school and somehow he still got under his skin. There was no point in trying to make sense of it so Enoch practically ran home hoping there wouldn’t be any other delays. Once he got there his dad had company over.
“Wow… what happened to you?” he looked only mildly concerned.
“Joseph! Try to have a little more concern for your own child,” his friend said.
“Hey Ethan,” Enoch waved to the older man.
“Did you bring the peanut butter?” his dad interrupted.
It was only then that Enoch remembered he had just left the ramen he bought on the ground at the store in his hurry to get away from Eli.
“Uh…” is all he managed.
Joseph sighed to himself quietly. “Its fine we can just order pizza I suppose.”
“Well i’m gunna go shower…” Enoch said gesturing to his soaked clothes.
“Aren’t you going to soccer practice?” his dad asked. “Your game is tomorrow, can you play if you don’t go?”
“Shit!” Enoch said running out the door almost immediately.
“Language!” Joseph said as the door closed.
The rain seemed to get thicker the moment he stepped outside and he thought that maybe it was purposely hindering him. He couldn’t miss the practice the day before the game if he wanted to play, and he knew that even in this storm there would be practice. Clearwood’s coaches were almost religious about the sport, he had to be there.
He managed to make it to the school within twenty minutes, and barreled into the locker room to change. He struggled with his wet clothes for a few minutes before he ran out to the field with his teammates. Xzavier immediately noticed and basically tackled him before bombarding him with questions.
“I was starting to think you were actually dead idiot,” Xzavier said shaking him.
“Actually they only gave me the black eye, the rest of it was just… the result of a bad day,” Enoch said finally realizing how sore he was.
“Well answer our texts at least! I tried calling you like a million times!” Xzavier punched his arm.
“Yea I know, I just wanted you to feel like a jerk thinking I was in a ditch somewhere,” Enoch smiled innocently.
“You’re such an ass,” he laughed under his breath.
Sorry I haven't posted another chapter for this in a while... I'm such a procrastinator Dx
